Privacy Policy — This Note

This Note is published by SIA Bolwarra (trading as Bolwarra Technologies), a company registered in Riga, Latvia. This policy explains exactly what happens to your data when you use This Note for Windows.

1. What we collect

Nothing. This Note has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, and no advertising SDKs.

2. Where your data lives

Every note, folder, tag, setting, and password lives only on your device, inside Windows' per-user application data folder. We do not transmit, copy, back up, or sync your notes anywhere. We never see them.

3. Encryption

You can optionally protect This Note with a global password and/or per-note passwords. When enabled, notes are encrypted on your device using AES-256-GCM. Keys are derived from your password using PBKDF2-SHA256 (600,000 iterations) and stored inside Windows Credential Manager. We have no way to recover lost passwords — if you forget your password, the encrypted notes cannot be decrypted.

4. Purchases

Optional themes (e.g. "Ocean") are sold as Microsoft Store in-app purchases. When you buy a theme, the transaction is handled entirely by the Microsoft Store. SIA Bolwarra receives only an opaque receipt confirming the purchase — never your name, email, payment details, or billing address. 5. External links

If you click a link inside the app, Windows opens it in your default browser. We do not see or log what you clicked.

6. EU / GDPR rights

Because we do not collect or process personal data, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete. SIA Bolwarra is nonetheless the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR. You may at any time exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection by emailing the address below. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Latvian supervisory authority, Datu valsts inspekcija (https://www.dvi.gov.lv).

7. Children

This Note is not directed at children under 13. We collect no information about anyone, including children.

8. Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will appear at this URL with a new "Last updated" date. We will never silently weaken your privacy.
